Sara Womble Norman Obituary, Death – At NHC Healthcare in Tullahoma on Monday, November 20, 2023, Sara Elizabeth Womble Norman, who was 89 years old and a resident of Lynchburg, passed away suddenly. She is a native of Moore County and was born in Lynchburg on April 4, 1934. Her parents, Charles Ivie Womble and Lillie Mae (Price) Womble, both passed away before her birth. She had worked for AEDC, Engineering Administration at Jack Daniels, and Moore County Circuit Court Clerk for a considerable amount of time prior to her retirement.

She did all of these jobs before she retired. Her hobbies included gardening, watching birds, cooking, painting, and sculpting. She also enjoyed gardening and bird watching in her spare time. As a person who had traveled extensively over the globe, Sara had visited a number of states in addition to Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, and Central America. However, the thing that she enjoyed doing the most was spending time with her cherished family, particularly her grandchildren.

She was a passionate member of the Main Street Church of Christ, and she treasured the time she got to spend with her church family within the congregation. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Norman. Her parents also passed away before her. The following people are able to carry on Sara’s legacy: her devoted sons, Joe Norman and Jeff (Nicole) Norman; her grandkids, Harrison Norman, Hollis Norman, William Norman, and Elsbeth Norman; her siblings, JoAnn Passons and Price Womble; and her nieces and nephews, Julie Womble, Jon Womble.

On Friday, November 24, 2023, visitation will take place at the Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Lynchburg from twelve to two o’clock in the afternoon. Following the visitation, funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, with Bro. Tom Harrison serving as the spiritual leader. After that, the burial will take place in Lynchburg Cemetery.
